On the way again

Well yesterday qualifies as one of the top 10 worst days of my life, while trying to break down cat crates i accidently crushed my index finger had to go to er a 4 hour delay then the tarps kept blowing off the trucks then ut started raining so we just turned around and came home am starting off again today so we are just about to get on the road again hopefully with better results so check in as we go along see i told you nothing is ever boring in my life. Hello from the sicky poo one

Well I am feeling better thank goodness and thank you all for all the best wishes and stuff and Atlanta crew i will still see you every couple of months at Jff for a special visit and bring you lots of new cabs and you will be able to see them on the website as well as here on the blog i am making alot of new exciting plans for jewelry want to create some of the cool stuff that's been in the idea book to long needs to become real and not just a bunch of images in a book. Hey maybe i will take you along with me on their journey of construction that should be fun. Still packing stuff i have alot of art stuff never totally relized that until now whew stuff everywhere in boxes, crystal and i moved the persian carpets last nite we laughed so hard we now know what hit men goes through moving bodies in carpets like on tv whew it was not easy but we did have a lot of laughs out of it it was flopping all over the place even wrapped in plastic haha. The storage space is filling up fast i am thinking maybe should have gotten a larger one. My old house is starting to look empty loosing all of it's personality kind of sad in a way oh well life is all about change nothing does stay the same does it? New experiences ahead already planning on what shows to do in florida so much to do see you soon!

Trying to get better for the journey

Well since on thursday i was diagnosed with double pheumonia i am resting although i have been looking at old jewelry mags to keep me entertained, today i feel alot better and more cheerful what a time to get sick huh? I have started to finish the packing in spurts on my energetic moments i will meet my departure date or else. Crystal is helping especially with the kittens that are for sale i am now down to 5 i think so it's all going pretty good. Keep up with us on our journey its bound to be alot of fun and exciting my sister is so excited to see us coming she can hardly contain herself.

What a yucky day in atlanta

Yeah it's a rainy nite in georgia alright along with the day and did i mention really chilly yuck. Yes i am moving to florida next thursday christmas eve crystal my daughter will be helping me move along with my 15 siamese cats, 2 dogs which are just going for a road trip and a bunny names Barry White his first name my grandson aiden chose so naturally since hes white and barry white is one of my favorite singers was how he got his name and he is called barry white not just barry and will come when called very loveable he is waiting on aiden to return from hawaii in threee years. I am going to post our trip online complete with pictures and lots of interesting tales i am certain things always seem to happen to me when i do a road trip so join us along the way for all the fun and action i am sure it wont be boring haha.

hello strangers

Hello everyone I know it's been awhile since I wrote anything but I have been going through some personal stuff and making hard decisions about everything but hopefully the new year will bring positive changes and peace at last, i sincerely thank all who have stood by me for the last year and their patience with me so everyone it's heads up time get it straight time and pull up the big girl panties and get it done and done right so lets kick some butt with lots of laughter and enjoy life as it should be done.

I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful feast today and filling up with all that wonderful food and fun with the family and extended families. I always remember what wonderful feast we had when i was a child man could my nanny put some food together we always would travel to her house in miami for the holidays. Her house seemed to be bursting at the seams and it was so much fun to play with all my cousins.

working on a wednesday

Has everyone got their feast decided upon well here at this household we are just going to do a simple feast not to much to do this year i want to make some jewelry instead. I am working on a piece that has special meaning to me as i am hoping it help me during this time in my life of adjustment to new things and situations that are coming my way hoping that it will help me along a new path in my life. For the piece i chose some wonderful bright apple green chrysoprase it is said to have a calming effect on both the mind and the body. It also symbolizes clarity of thought, lead us to intellectual approaches. The stone is to be worn for a long time when used for these healing purposes.It is a respresentative of the quartz family and also a chalcedony. I will make a few extra ones for my website just in case anyone else feels the need for this stones power of course there will also be some cabachons available to purchase as well. Its Monday All Day Long

Hi everyone it's time to get up and get it together i have been studying some of my research information on stone knowledge and their powers this is something i have been interested in a long time the more i study the more info i get that amazes me. I am trying to find some info i have already studied at some point about what stones the romains sewed in the tunics of their soldiers before they left for war i have a friend whos son is returning to iraq and would like to get a pouch together for him before he leaves to return there. It is amazing the history of the stones over time and the folklore that goes with them alot of people think these beliefs are tied to withcraft which they arent actually they talk of stones in the Bible. Since alot of people are interested in stone knownledge i think i will post ana dditional blog on stones and their powers in which they made be able to help in a positive way in your life, stones are also tuned into the zodiac so there are stones outthere to go with whatever sign you are i will be glad to assist anyone with that info just send me a comment and i will let you know, in addition i also cut and cab my own stones so if you want a raw stone instead of a finished stone let me know and i will try to help you .

New Stones

Thank you everyone who came to JFF today to get some of the new stones i cabbed. I have got some wonderful Petrified Palmwood with some really cool spots and lines on it. Next week some of my wonderful chrysocola is make an appearance actually not next week because JFF will be closed but some will be appearing on my new website nancysjewelrydesigns so please check it out. Almost the end of the week

Wow what a rushed week , i am working on getting stuff it seems everywhere, this taking pictures, posting stuff here and there whew well i am getting it under control let me tell you lots of stuff on flickr. the new site

Thanks for following me to the blogspot i have finally managed to get stuff to come all together (hopefully). In January I will be changing the name from nancy creations, nancy antley creations, antley creations to nancys jewely designs. At the moment a web site is being created for me with the new business name you can find it at Nancys Jewelry Designs.com. I am finally trying to get all of it together the stones as well as the jewelry it has been a long journey with dealing my moms death and i think i have finally came out of it and adjusted as most of you know she was terribily sick for about 15 years before she past away this january it will be two long years since we lost her. My dad health continues to deteroitrate with the alzheimers i am slowly loosing my father its sometimes hard to remember the tall strong laughing man he once was but every so often we catch a glimpse of him and we have come to enjoy this funny laughing new father and all his little episodes he gets himself and us into . I would like to take this time to thank all the wonderful support of good friends who stood by me at the most difficult of times thank you from the bottom of my heart

Hey it's Midweek Hurrah

Hi everyone thankgoodness it's midweek , i always love Wednesdays because I know tomorrow i will get to hang out with good friends and make cool jewelry yummy. I have been very busy this morning working on some more baby cabachons of course i am loving all of them and not want to part with them ah occupational hazard at best but this is a business so i have to of course i will have to say a few for myself sorry love ya though. There are so many different kinds i can't name them all come Saturday and get what you need they usually run about $15.00 they are alot of work to prep but they are worth it i think. Remember they will be at JFF Saturday join the blog and get a surprise and no i am not going to tell what it is so forget it.

Well it winter time kind of so it's time to start a little knitting again they have some really cool patterns on etsy you can purchase really cheap to download especially if you are a beginner like me , don't know if you remember but my aunt taught the very basic knitting while my mom was in the hospital before she passed so i am still learning hey does anyone know of a good store on the southside for wool and lessons let me know if you do. Well i have decided to do one of those really cute scarfettes on etsy so i will keep you posted on how that goes.

It's a rainy day in Georgia

Hi everyone sorry i didn't post yesterday but do to a minor household accident i just couldn't type to well . Yesterday i learned its not a good idea to make tea and then clean off the stove while it's still hot especially if you have a gas stove and want to clean the burners hot iron is really HOT!, grabbed the aloe and thank goodness it really does work no blisters forming but you can actually see them kind of weird huh. I guess a typical Monday at work but i did get a day of rest sort of.

Today's agenda is going to be working on the baby cabs again already got them prepared for the cabbing machine but first its experiment time i am going to try to do some mix metal stuff, using copper and silver i want see what kind of cool things i can come up with so be prepared tomorrow for the big surprise of seeing what the experiment turns out for us to enjoy.


I also posted some of my stuff on etsy again trying to get that established offering a great deal on earrings at $15.00 a pair and some other stuff in case you might need some quality inexpensive gifts for the holidays or stocking stuffers.


My last bit of exciting news i am finally getting my own website, hurrah thanks to someone very special out there for helping me out don't know what i would do without your help and support it is in the process of being put together the site is NancysJewelryDesigns.com its under construction now but you can still buy something if you like.

It's Sunday Lets Create Jewelry Day

Hello everyone, i feel in the creating mood today so i am headed down to the jewelry studio hurray my favorite place of besides the cabbing room.Yesterday was such a fun day the other nancy who is one of my bff and I hung out in her studio and made some cool alloy called shibudoo or shubuki somthing like that where you mix copper and silver together we were hilarious like two mad scientists at work on a world changing experiment. Now rolling it out was another thing we both felt we got our upper body workout for certain whew but man was it cool going to do some more in my studio this week. Will get some pics for everyone to see when i do it here at home as always JFF fitted me out for the job with new tongs , crucibles, stirring stick and all so it was easy to try it out thanks to Dallas for helping us out hurrah success got to let him know he always loves to know our results of our experiments haha. I will hopefully post some cool stuff soon for you to see keep in touch and to anyone mentioning this blog at JFF i am going to give you a surprise if you signed up to follow me in the blog just let me know when you show up at JFF on Saturday.

It's Tuesday Already

Well after taking off Sunday and Monday to do some me stuff it's time to hit the creative road first on the list of priorites it baby cabachons oh yeah here they come for all of you wonderful people who are waiting on them to emerge they are here yeah it's okay making them but i still like the bigger stuff and when you move down in size there is also the issue of smaller print needed on the stones hard to get all that great graphics on little stones. The leaves are so pretty in my back yard i think they must have made an impression when i went rock gathering this week, i chose colors that reminded me of the fantastic foilage that is every here to see the golds that i think is the favorite color of the fall leaves those maple trees that are that really golden and orange color are so great here are some of the rocks that i will be working with this week, as well as jewelry to post on etsy so stay tuned for more updates as the week progresses.

My Life On Saturday

Happy Halloween everyone hope you have alot of fun today, after a busy morning at JFF and a great lunch with two of my bestfriends at California Kitchen which has great food and salads if you haven't checked it out yet on Dunwoody something I am off to the studio to take a little me time for a special project i am working on will keep everyone updated on it , it's cool and funky of course its jewelry. I am going to try to post to nancycreations on etsy some new stuff so keep the lookout for it their may be something there you will need. Life's Getting Busy

Wow you guys life here is getting a little bit busy these days starting a new bracelet with my mentor Julia Woodman who is a fantastic lady with unbelieveable knownledge. She is so inspiring about teaching me to move the metal it's great lots of hammering gets out all your frustration. We are working on a reticulated silver bangle that is awesome.

Went and finally got some neat chains to go with the necklaces for nancycreations.etsy.com so i will be posting some new ones hopefully tomorrow. Oh and had a great experience my friend Amy Rowe and i were eating breakfast at a local restaurant i was showing her some new earrings and the lady at the next table asked are you selling those , i sold her two pairs i am so excited hurrah! I will start posting some cabachons on the etsy site at some super prices i am restocking so i am trying to make some room for the new stones so there will some marked really economical for anyone who made need some new stones.


Featuring this week at JFF will be the Chinese Writing Stone and some small cabs for anyone who is looking for them due to the price of silver these days you will be able to get smaller stones with me for anyone who made need them, keep posted for the new stones that are coming out and keep an eye on the sale tray is going to have to get a little fuller to make way for the new stones that are coming out.

Chinese Writing Stones

Here they are fresh off the cabbing machine the Chinese Writing Stones which get their name from the marks that are on the rock which resemble Chinese Writing to some people. These stones are available now and will be at JFF on saturday.

Choosing of Stones

About once a year i go on the big hunt that is for rocks thats what i consider big game, i travel sometimes far and wide looking for these rock and have met some really cool people along my travels and each year the hunt always seems to follow a theme one year it was red rocks for stones another year is was orbicular or rocks with dots on them and this last year it was graphic rocks and then as usual its always dino bone (dinosaur bone) and petrified palmwood and of course it goes without saying anything cool that catches my fancy. The trip is usually carried out in January or Febuary and one year its actually going to be Tuscon where my aunt lives (get to visit with her also) and shop till i drop it scares me a little to be honest like taking a junkie in a pharmacy and saying shop till you drop.Always something comes up and the trip gets cancelled so no more planning that trip one year i will just get in Big Red my dodge truck and just simply go or maybe rent a BIG Uhaul truck instead to bring back my treasures in or find a trucker with an empty 18 wheeler to bring it back scary huh ?So already i am thinking what will this years theme be.

Today is lets cut some stones day already have started on the Chinese Writing Stone got some new stuff in last week already designed ready to go. The article in Jewelry Artist featured an unusal way to set a cabachon may try it out this week and take it to JFF on saturday depends on the time frame. Most of you who know me know i love BIG stones and jewelry well due to the price of silver rising like crazy maybe i will have to rethink that a little so i have decided to start doing little stones too, and everyone is wanting them to so that is this weeks get done thing.
Now all of our favorite stones are going to be available in little form but lets dont get crazy earring stones may be possible at some point.

Life on a Monday

Well i can already see it's Monday, kittens being born the last two girls are delivering thank goodness this is always such a stressful time for me you would think by now i would be use to it but no i still stress worrying in case anything could go wrong i know they must get tired of me checking them out to see how it is going.

On my way down to the studios to see what is on the agenda for the day, made a nice lariat turquoise necklace yesterday i like it alot may have to make me one of those it's on my etsy site

I am picking out stones for this weekend at JFF and will try to put up a few on the etsy site i am thinking fall colors and some graphic stones like the chinese writing stone that was featured in the necklace on the cover of the Jewelry Artist which showed a cool way to set a stone interesting . I am going to try to make something for the etsy site today in the jewelry studio and finish up some of those great UFO projects that are hanging around or at least make some chain .

Summers over folks

Well summer is over and its time to get back into the swing of things i have really had a great time this summer in florida visiting with my family but i think the highlight is meeting with old friends again after a long time hello to all of you i have really missed you guys all these years.
Now is the time to get started into making stones and jewelry again. life in general

Well hello again, new wheels for the cabbing machine finally arrived lots of new goodies went out this last weekend with some really beautiful candy pink rhondanite more to follow with, some cool silver orbicular jasper , this week coming up will be some blue scapalite which sorta looks like blue aventurine and sodalite but with more sparkle and shine really nice, there will be some new picture stone in great southwestern colors , and lots more. On the personal side of life my father is not doing so well so i may be heading to florida real soon for a while i will keep u posted if i am to be out of town been feeling under the weather this last week so may go and stay a while will keep u in touch hope to see you at JFF on saturdays. nancy antley creations

Last week ended on a tearful note saying goodbye to Brian at Amalagam Arts good luck with your move and we will surely miss you , but HELLO Wendy and welcome aboard, Wendy looks like she's going to be alot of fun to work with opening their new classes at the center which is stilled called Amalgam Arts so check out their schedule. Met up with old friend Cat at Callonwolde, she can certainly make some cool jewelry may have to enroll myself in one of her classes soon, visited with some of her students lots of talented folks there. As most of you know next weekend i will not be a JFF going on a much needed vacation with one of the grandbabies maybe two if i am lucky, so this weekend i hope to bring out some special stuff, there will be some cats eye both in red and blue mostly small stones , lots of flash on the stones, have lots of new stuff planned for the return on the 18th, The RED SLASHED SALE WILL BEGIN on the 18th with mostly everything left over from before vacation on sale 50%off will have lots of new stuff to fill the trays with. Whats coming out this weekend at JFF

Hi everyone well lets see the finger has healed and i am back at cabbing again. Coming out this weekend at JFF will lots of new stones Labdorite, drusy, petrified palmwood several colors, lots of other new stones. Florida Buying Trip

Well let's see the trip to florida went very well, we found lots of treasures for everyone i hope. I have added some new fossils gotten on the trip , some more ammonites both large and small, some roman coins and cool mercury dimes as well. The rock i picked up is some great labordorite with lots of color, some blue and red cats eye some drusy agates turquoise thanks to my great friends who took me out for my 50th birthday party we had alot of fun. Amalagram Arts Trunk Show

hello there everyone well lets see the Amalgram trunk show was great , Brian had a great turn out for the class with everyone's finished stuff looking great as usual this is the third time i have had a trunk show with them and the students always lots of fun and turn out alot of great stuff.
