My Life On Saturday

Happy Halloween everyone hope you have alot of fun today, after a busy morning at JFF and a great lunch with two of my bestfriends at California Kitchen which has great food and salads if you haven't checked it out yet on Dunwoody something I am off to the studio to take a little me time for a special project i am working on will keep everyone updated on it , it's cool and funky of course its jewelry. I am going to try to post to nancycreations on etsy some new stuff so keep the lookout for it their may be something there you will need. Met some great students from Kennesaw who are studying metalsmithing hello guys look forward to seeing you from time to time at Jff and around town. Well off to the studio !

Life's Getting Busy

Wow you guys life here is getting a little bit busy these days starting a new bracelet with my mentor Julia Woodman who is a fantastic lady with unbelieveable knownledge. She is so inspiring about teaching me to move the metal it's great lots of hammering gets out all your frustration. We are working on a reticulated silver bangle that is awesome.

Went and finally got some neat chains to go with the necklaces for nancycreations.etsy.com so i will be posting some new ones hopefully tomorrow. Oh and had a great experience my friend Amy Rowe and i were eating breakfast at a local restaurant i was showing her some new earrings and the lady at the next table asked are you selling those , i sold her two pairs i am so excited hurrah! I will start posting some cabachons on the etsy site at some super prices i am restocking so i am trying to make some room for the new stones so there will some marked really economical for anyone who made need some new stones.


Featuring this week at JFF will be the Chinese Writing Stone and some small cabs for anyone who is looking for them due to the price of silver these days you will be able to get smaller stones with me for anyone who made need them, keep posted for the new stones that are coming out and keep an eye on the sale tray is going to have to get a little fuller to make way for the new stones that are coming out.

Chinese Writing Stones

Here they are fresh off the cabbing machine the Chinese Writing Stones which get their name from the marks that are on the rock which resemble Chinese Writing to some people. These stones are available now and will be at JFF on saturday.

Choosing of Stones

About once a year i go on the big hunt that is for rocks thats what i consider big game, i travel sometimes far and wide looking for these rock and have met some really cool people along my travels and each year the hunt always seems to follow a theme one year it was red rocks for stones another year is was orbicular or rocks with dots on them and this last year it was graphic rocks and then as usual its always dino bone (dinosaur bone) and petrified palmwood and of course it goes without saying anything cool that catches my fancy. The trip is usually carried out in January or Febuary and one year its actually going to be Tuscon where my aunt lives (get to visit with her also) and shop till i drop it scares me a little to be honest like taking a junkie in a pharmacy and saying shop till you drop.Always something comes up and the trip gets cancelled so no more planning that trip one year i will just get in Big Red my dodge truck and just simply go or maybe rent a BIG Uhaul truck instead to bring back my treasures in or find a trucker with an empty 18 wheeler to bring it back scary huh ?So already i am thinking what will this years theme be.

Today is lets cut some stones day already have started on the Chinese Writing Stone got some new stuff in last week already designed ready to go. The article in Jewelry Artist featured an unusal way to set a cabachon may try it out this week and take it to JFF on saturday depends on the time frame. Most of you who know me know i love BIG stones and jewelry well due to the price of silver rising like crazy maybe i will have to rethink that a little so i have decided to start doing little stones too, and everyone is wanting them to so that is this weeks get done thing.
Now all of our favorite stones are going to be available in little form but lets dont get crazy earring stones may be possible at some point.

Life on a Monday

Well i can already see it's Monday, kittens being born the last two girls are delivering thank goodness this is always such a stressful time for me you would think by now i would be use to it but no i still stress worrying in case anything could go wrong i know they must get tired of me checking them out to see how it is going.

On my way down to the studios to see what is on the agenda for the day, made a nice lariat turquoise necklace yesterday i like it alot may have to make me one of those it's on my etsy site

I am picking out stones for this weekend at JFF and will try to put up a few on the etsy site i am thinking fall colors and some graphic stones like the chinese writing stone that was featured in the necklace on the cover of the Jewelry Artist which showed a cool way to set a stone interesting . I am going to try to make something for the etsy site today in the jewelry studio and finish up some of those great UFO projects that are hanging around or at least make some chain .

Summers over folks

Well summer is over and its time to get back into the swing of things i have really had a great time this summer in florida visiting with my family but i think the highlight is meeting with old friends again after a long time hello to all of you i have really missed you guys all these years.
Now is the time to get started into making stones and jewelry again.
